Planners work closely with clients to work out the objectives of what a campaign needs to achieve, and come up with a communication strategy that will make that happen. From here, a creative brief can be written. If you have an interest in analysing behaviours through research and applying that thinking, this may be the role for you.The Account Planning Fellowship is a 2-year programme ,consisting of an initial training period, followed by four 6-month placements in Ogilvy & Mather, OgilvyOne, Ogilvy PR, and Coley Porter Bell.
RECRUITMENT:Once the application period closes, we will read through your forms and invite the chosen few for a day of interviews and group tasks at our London office. We then get together and select the candidates who will take part in our Planning Fellowship.
THE JOB:Following an initial training period, our Planning Fellows dive straight into 4 consecutive 6-month placements in the strategic planning departments at some of our most exciting companies: Ogilvy & Mather, Ogilvy One, Coley Porter Bell and Ogilvy PR. During this time you will also have the opportunity to attend external training courses. The hands-on training and varied rotations are designed give you some of the best Planning training in the industry, teaching you every aspect of the job. During the course of the four placements you will learn what it takes to be a top Planner, working on real strategic campaigns for clients. You will learn how to do everything from running focus groups, writing briefs, conducting audience research, producing competitor reports, dipping into product design and working on live pitches. To finely tune both you and your skills, you’ll be paired with a senior planner who act as your Guardian. You’ll be able bounce ideas off them, discuss your development and they’ll offer you a great deal of valuable advice and guidance. You’ll also be paired with a Mentor; a junior planner who, like you, is a relatively new to the industry, so will really be able to relate to what you’re going through and can chat about all aspects of the business. Throughout the Fellowship, you’ll receive ongoing training and have the chance to work on exciting side projects across the agency group.
